The vision to love the world and be a vessel of hope is what attracts me to the Rock Church. No organization is better equipped to care for the ‘broken’ than the local church. We have a body of people that love their neighbors and their city, we have a leader who communicates the gospel well, a staff that loves God and wants to inspire anyone that experiences the Rock, and a vision that unites us all.
Watch this video, share your vision for the future, tell us how are you going to impact the world and create a better future for the broken.
Why God? Why Pain? Why Me?
It’s been a really interesting journey as I study the world around me. I am preparing a video for an upcoming series called “Why Bad Things Happen”. There are plenty of painful issues in my own life. More annoyances when I compare them to others and the world.
When I look around I see big events and tragedies. I fail to see people, but I do see the war in Libya, the tsunamis, the devastation and horror in Japan, the death of Osama an enemy and yet a father/husband, deadly tornados, etc.
I can certainly put a familiar face to pain. My friends the McRae family who have a young daughter battling cancer. My friend David Schulz who put his life on the line telling a mind blowing and sad story of the Karen people only to have their people shun him and ask him to throw away his efforts. The list goes on and on.
